Oaklands is a fully approved provider of child care, kindergarten and outside school hours care, and is owned and operated by Churchie, the Anglican Church Grammar School.
At Oaklands, we provide a secure, stimulating and nurturing environment of the highest standard for children to grow and develop their skills. Through our play-based programs, our qualified and caring educators provide individual and group experiences designed to enhance, extend and challenge children’s thinking and learning. We understand that each child and family is unique.
Our programs are based on learning outcomes set out in Early Years Learning Framework, My Time, Our Place Framework for School Age Care and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline. Our programs ensure the delivery of high quality early childhood programs that strongly emphasise socialisation and group interaction and dovetail into the Reception year at Churchie.
Oaklands is conveniently located in Brisbane’s inner suburb of East Brisbane (four kilometres from the CBD) and is fully air-conditioned with purpose-built facilities to ensure a stimulating environment for your child. We also provide a nutritionally balanced and inclusive menu of morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, and currently hold a 5 star Food Safety Rating from the Brisbane City Council.
We pride ourselves on employing educators and teachers not only for their qualifications, but for their professional and caring disposition with children. We employ educators and teachers who are qualified or are studying towards a qualification. All staff have a current first aid certificate, current CPR plus current asthma and anaphylaxis training. Each staff member also has personal medicals, is immunised and must hold a current suitability card.
We provide regular in-service training and professional development opportunities for our staff. We believe this ongoing training is important for professional staff development as it enables us to offer a high quality service.
